Constantia Cape Town : Constantia property values are enhanced by a rich history. The Constantia Valley takes its name from the farm granted to Simon van der Stel in 1685 by Commissioner van Rheede. Governor van der Stel named his property after Constanza, the young daughter of a friend. Today the surrounding area including Tokai, Bergvliet, Meadowridge and Diep River is known as Constantiaberg. As a part of Cape Town's established leafy Southern Suburbs, Constantiaberg boast well known and historic suburbs with historic wine estates. Bordering Bishopscourt where many embassies are located and charming Wynberg, the area borders Newlands the home of rugby and cricket Claremont the commercial capital. Nearby Rondebosch and Rosebank are the academic home to UCT and other educational landmarks. The village character of Mowbray, Harfield Village and Plumstead add to the rich diversity of the area with more affordable property investment options as do Kirstenhof and Lakeside further south.
